Our Protein Engineering group within the Large Molecule Research Platform US is seeking a computational protein designer, with strong expertise in computational structure modeling, protein chemistry, and structural biology. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative and professional environment to design and engineer revolutionary large molecule medicines, including multivalent, multi-targeting molecules. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to contribute and grow to resolve challenges in real-world large molecule drug discovery and make impacts to patients' life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively collaborate with colleagues with diverse scientific background, deliver and present computational modeling and structural biology analysis to support large molecule projects.
- Evaluate and establish leading edge computational modeling methods to expand and automate analysis of antibody-antigen complexes.
- Develop and integrate modeling and structural biology methods to improve current workflow for antibody/nanobody engineering, including affinity modification, cross-reactivity engineering, liability risk prediction and mitigation, multi-specific antibody engineering, and de novo antibody design.
- Closely monitor leading edge developments in scientific literatures and develop new skills in the area of structural biology and antibody engineering.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ph. D. with 5+ years of experience in computational structural biology, bioinformatics, structural biology, biochemistry, or biophysics, with significant experience in protein modeling.
- In-depth understanding of protein structure and protein-protein interaction; Hands-on experience with protein structure modeling, structural analysis and optimization of biochemical and biophysical properties, like thermodynamics, with protein design tools e.g. Rosetta, BioLuminate, or MOE, etc.
- Experience of applying and optimizing computational workflow for protein modeling and/or engineering through programming with Python, etc. Experience with cloud computing, parallel computing, and/or supercomputing is expected.
- A drive for self-development with a focus on scientific know-how.
- Excellent problem solving and written/oral communication skills, as well as scientific writing, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Track record of scientific accomplishments as evidenced by a strong publication record.
- Hands-on experience with crystallography or cryoEM preferred.
- Familiarity with statistics and machine learning preferred.
- Understanding of antibody/nanobody structures and biologics R&D process preferred.
