The West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology. This position is responsible for executing research responsibilities and assist the Principle Investigator with general operation of the lab, to include technical advice and direction for other scientists as needed.

- Assist with developing research methods and approaches.
- Communicate with colleagues and students effectively about research activity.
- Actively participate as part of the research team.
- Initiate research related tasks to the standards and objectives of the specific research project.
- Analyze and interpret the results of research experiments.
- Attend and present results at regional, national, and/or international meetings.
- PhD in a relevant discipline
- Experience in host-pathogen interaction systems or models
- Experience in the following is preferred:
- Advanced microscopy techniques
- Rodent models of bacterial sepsis
- Research experience with animal models of tuberculosis and/or advanced microscopy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including manuscript preparation
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a collaborative environment
- Proven organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced problem solving skills
