ERM is seeking a Climate Change Advisory Consultant (Associate Level) to join our climate advisory services team in Seattle or San Francisco. In this role, you will contribute to the development and growth of ERMs sustainability and climate change business.

ERM delivers a wide range of climate change services including supply chain management, circular economy, greenhouse gas inventories and carbon footprinting, strategy development, target setting, and scenario analysis. We help develop and implement climate change programs across a broad range of industry sectors for global companies and financial institutions. In this client-facing role, you will work with senior consultants and partners to deliver a range of projects including LCA for product footprints, corporate footprints, target setting, and scenario analysis helping our clients develop climate strategies for a low carbon economy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the delivery of complex LCA projects, ensuring robust and credible outcomes in accordance with ISO standards and other methodologies relating to LCAs and carbon footprinting
Complete life cycle analysis modeling for products and processes using LCA software; develop environmental product declarations for products
Conduct Scope 3 GHG assessments and supply chain inventories
Assist in developing practical and measurable climate change programs including, targets, metrics, scenario analysis and strategies for circular economy and supply chain management
Synthesize and communicate market drivers for sustainability topics including sustainable product design, climate change, and supply chain management
Support clients responding to the DJSI, CDP Climate Change, Water, and Forest Questionnaires, and other public disclosures
Develop metrics and KPIs for tracking improvement on circular economy strategies
Stay up to date on emerging trends in the field

REQUIREMENTS:

3 to 5 years experience working on climate change and conducting LCAs
A Bachelors (required) or Masters degree (preferred) in engineering or basic/applied science (such as physics, chemistry, material science, environmental science, earth sciences, etc.)
Extensive experience using LCA software (SimaPro or Gabi)
Experience in developing, adapting, and implementing LCA methodology development to complete studies with various degrees of granularity
Experience with GHG inventories
Attention to detail
Ability to think critically through systems and processes
Interest in a career in consulting and demonstrates a passion for serving clients
Effective written/verbal communication, demonstrated through a writing test
Ability to recognize when to ask for help and how to identify appropriate resources to accomplish tasks as needed
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently. Some travel is required to support a wide array of projects and clients Covid protocols will be in place for travel for as long as necessary

COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate will also have:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software, specifically advanced level Excel (ability to perform advanced equations, graph, learn new functions quickly, Visual Basic for Applications -VBAs), and other data analysis software (Tableau Desktop, PowerBI, Watson Analytics, etc.)
Excellent proofreading and technical editing.
