Job Summary
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Scientist to join our Remediation team. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients.
The successful candidate will have at a minimum a BS in Environmental Science, with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects and strong project management skills.
This position will be based in our Clifton, New Jersey office with field responsibilities in New Jersey and the greater New York City region.
You will have experience with response and environmental investigations and through site clean-up and closure is required. Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
- The field activities will consist of air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater and sediment sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and the oversight of investigation and remediation subcontractors including laboratories and excavation and drilling companies
- Assist with gathering and analyzing geological and hydrogeological data in both the field and office settings
- Task Management Experience
- Strong technical background
- Preparing complex site conceptual models
- Collecting and evaluating environmental data in field and office settings
- Preparing investigation reports and drawings
- Technical report writing
- Investigation cost estimating
- Identifying, preparing and demonstrating compliance with relevant permits
- Independent field work and leadership of field teams

Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS and 2 years of experience and or equivalency of experience and or education..
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS and demonstrating remediation consulting experience
- Managing drilling programs experience
- Competency in soil, vapor and groundwater sampling.
