ERG is seeking an experienced natural resources project manager to provide support for a Department of Defense agency. This position is largely office-based; however, field work may also be required on occasion.

Responsibilities and opportunities may include:
  • Managing and supporting projects within multidisciplinary teams for a variety of natural resource management efforts
  • Managing and/or developing Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans (INRMPs) for federal properties
  • Developing technical guidance pertaining to horticultural operations and integrated pest management
  • Preparing materials for and coordinating public education on natural resource-related topics
  • Developing content for and working with ERGs graphics team to develop infographics and fact sheets about wildlife, habitats, and landscaping practices
  • Performing desktop-based research and occasional site visits
  • Using GIS to develop maps
  • Performing occasional field studies (e.g., wetland, bird, bat, herpetofauna, mammal, macroinvertebrate, water chemistry, terrestrial vegetation, aquatic vegetation surveys)
  • Supporting consultations with local, state, and federal natural resource management agencies
  • Participating in growing ERGs overall natural resources program
In addition to supporting natural resource-related work, qualified candidates may have the opportunity to support efforts related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), multimedia resource management, and sustainable development.

Candidates must have:
  • Bachelors degree in natural resources, wildlife biology, environmental science or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience related to natural resource management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly organize and synthesize project findings and recommendations for a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize numerous concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Ability to develop high-quality, client-ready deliverables.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
Ideal candidates will have:
  • At least 2 years managing natural resource projects.
  • Managed natural resource projects for federal agencies.
  • Experience developing and implementing INRMPs for federal agencies.
  • Experience conducting wetland and wildlife studies/surveys.
  • Experience creating maps with GIS.
