Job Description
Summary:
This position has the primary job function of laboratory-based tasks, which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analyzing results in biological, chemical, physical and life sciences.
This position will also provide all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively, while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.
Duties:
- Perform Bioburden for Medical Devices and/or Pharmaceuticals in an aseptic environment
- Analysis of Bacterial Endotoxin extracts using an LAL plate reader
- Run steam sterilization using an autoclave
- Perform Environmental Monitoring and Particulate count of cleanroom
- Mix chemicals and perform QC checks like pH, Osmolality, Optical Density, and viscosity
- Prepare loads and administrative paperwork for EO and gamma sterilization
- Perform package, Visual Inspection, Seal Strength and Integrity Testing
- Daily QC checks of passivation chemistry using analytical equipment like pH meter and analytical balance
- Prepare testing paperwork and sending product samples to outside test labs
- Calibration of laboratory analytical equipment
- Maintain calibration and preventative maintenance records for equipment
- Lead validations and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor' s Degree in a Science discipline
- 2+ years of Lab experience
- Microbiology and/or Bioburden testing experience essential.
