Principle Accountabilities:

Support PCA's internal environmental compliance program.

Provide support in due diligence (e.g., environmental site assessments and property transactions), product stewardship and fiber certification.

Provide compliance oversight, general environmental and regulatory review, permit assistance, environmental audit support, and interaction with federal, state and local regulatory agencies.

Provide environmental support to PCA Paper, Packaging and Transportation groups.

Critically assess laboratory procedures/practices, analytical methodologies, data management, QA/QC practices and recordkeeping protocol.

Assist in review and applicability analyses of existing and newly promulgated environmental regulations as they pertain to containerboard or paper mill operations.

Assist in containerboard, transportation and paper mill environmental audits.

Review, refine or revise containerboard/paper/transportation environmental SOPs, as appropriate or as directed.

Interface with supply chain partners and customers on product safety and environmental certifications.

At the direction of Regional EHS Managers and Corporate Environmental staff, assist in the preparation of regulatory compliance tools to be deployed to containerboard, transportation and paper mill operations.

Periodically rotate job duties to include coverage of all of the corporate environmental disciplines for cross-training and support purposes to provide additional knowledge and depth to the company's environmental management, compliance assurance, and risk reduction programs.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or equivalent.

Strong Leadership, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to assertively interact with manufacturing facility personnel and facility/corporate leadership.

Willingness to learn regulatory requirements applicable to containerboard and mill divisions.

Strong Microsoft Software skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel 25-40% of time.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of and/or experience working in analytical, research laboratory or manufacturing setting.
