The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and confident user of a wide array of scripting languages and geospatial software platforms (both desktop and cloud-based), and should have the ability to prepare applications and documents that are essentially client-ready. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring junior or mid-level consultant looking to advance his or her career with a global sustainability leader, and to do so in collaboration with a wide array of Subject Matter Experts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • With limited senior supervision, provide creative and fit-for-purpose technical analyses in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts in other fields and with other technical backgrounds.
  • Leverage technical knowledge of climate analysis and remote sensing to develop quantitative metrics and insight to help address medium to long-term climate driven risks to ERM clients.
  • Assist with environmental and social impact evaluation for planned or developed projects using your remote sensing and geospatial analysis capabilities.
  • Provide geospatial planning for field activities associated with environmental, social, and sustainability projects.
  • Provide technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM's service offerings using ESRI's full suite, cloud-based remote sensing applications, or other software platforms.
  • Explore and learn about new analytical approaches and software to develop new remote sensing or climate analyses for client offerings.
  • Assist with the preparation of climate analysis and remote sensing methodology sections for reports and proposals.
  • Work within, and guide others in working within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
  • Complete work assignments in accordance with ERM's management system, format and quality standards, and guide others in doing likewise.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • BA/BS or Master's degree in a related discipline such as geospatial analysis/remote sensing, climate/earth systems science, atmospheric science, or similar fields.
  • 2-4 years of experience.
  • Experience with conducting quantitative analysis using full suite of ESRI software and PowerBI. Experience with other software packages such as ENVI, ERDAS, and IDRISI is a plus.
  • Programming skill in Python, R, or similar.
  • Experience or familiarity working with climate models (i.e. CMIP6 GCMs, RCMs, etc.) ensemble analysis, and uncertainty quantification.
  • Knowledge of climate risk assessment and physical risk analysis, and extreme event analysis
  • Ability to work with multi-dimensional data (i.e. netCDF, GeoTIFF, etc.).
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel internationally, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organization/analytical skills.
  • Able to work under competing and fast-changing priorities while managing expectations and supporting the team under pressure.
  • Experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports with limited supervision.
  • Effective written/verbal communication including client communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attributes to become a strong senior consultant - team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter who takes initiative, versatile, and service-oriented mentality.
