Role Summary:

Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator becomes a conduit of support and fosters inter-department communications for sustainability, safety and environmental matters. The position drives engagement through communication and educates team members on sustainability, safety and environmental initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for employees. In addition, the position supports and drives continuous improvement at the multiple sites, works with team members to identify solutions to EHS issues/challenges.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence others that do not report to you. Being adaptable and willing to learn would benefit this position greatly as it will work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with multiple groups and teams with diverse backgrounds.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable workplace safety regulations.
  • Understands and influences human behaviors to reduce workplace risks.
  • Engage and guide others to assess risk, identify hazards, and implement appropriate controls.
  • Support development and implementation of routine inspections
  • Support in Job Hazard Assessments
  • Other tasks as needed to support the Environmental, Health & Safety team.
  • Travel to various sites in Southern California (primarily Carson & Torrance, CA)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Working Hours: 1st shift, full time.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 1 year experience in Environmental, Health & Safety support
  • Proficient with Excel, Microsoft Office products
  • Safety conscious
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • OSHA 10/30-Hour General Industry certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.
