Sr. Quality Micro Technician for a great company in Turlock, CA!
Description:
Summary/objective
The Sr. Quality Micro Technician is responsible for performing the activities that ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Essential functions

Competencies
Ability to recognize and report non-compliance situations with GMP and HACCP protocols.
This person will have the ability to articulate and record those findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Communicate any quality, food safety, or documentation issues to management so corrective and preventative action are implemented with proper disposition.
• Read, perform and record/document micro analysis utilizing SupHerb Farms testing procedures (APC, Coliform, E. coli, Staph, Yeast and Mold) within LIMS System.
• Collect and maintain samples for outside laboratory testing.
• Maintain records of analysis performed both in-house and by outside laboratories as needed.
• Prepare samples to view for daily production review meeting.
• File daily paperwork appropriately.• Prepare samples for pesticide testing and organize and maintain appropriate records.
• Maintain inventory levels of required micro supplies (including ordering of laboratory supplies).
• Maintain cleanliness of self and microbiology lab to ensure integrity of testing results.
• Preparation of Agar as needed.
• Perform and pass quarterly micro proficiency audits from McCormick.
• Responsible for calibration of laboratory and testing equipment (ex. Pipettes, thermometers, etc.)
• Maintains proper filing of all documentation and paperwork.
• Understand COA and sampling protocol, including lab analysis, and corresponding documentation.
• Provide support for Food Safety and Quality Manager as needed or requested.
• Assist lab functions as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Work environment
• The work environments described are representative of those an employee will typically
encounter while performing the functions of the job, standing, walking, climbing stairs,
cold environments, sitting and data entry. While performing the functions of this job, the
employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high,
precarious places, extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually
moderate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Chemistry, biochemistry, biology, sciences preferred
- Associates degree in science preferred
- Or 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training.
- HACCP Certification Preferred
