We're excited to lead the market in the evolution of surveying with the use of technology and efficient processes built upon unsurpassed industry knowledge. We are looking to supplement our team with an experienced Blue Water Surveyor. The aim of the role is to carry out specialised marine consulting projects including but not limited to forensic investigations, salvage, marine claims, accident investigations, disputes, surveys and marine warranties of marine casualties and associated incidents on a worldwide basis on working as an individual basis or as part of a wider international team. Key Responsibilities * Carry out investigations and assessments relating to marine matters * Carry out surveys on different ship types for various clients * Prepare technically accurate and timely reports as required * Perform onsite surveys relating to marine matters * Produce letters and reports detailing the findings of their investigations and/ or attendances * Provide expert opinion/evidence in court/arbitration in relation to their written expert testimony * Provide advice/support to clients in marine related matters * To follow company operating procedures * Assisting with the management and training of junior personnel * Carry out and assist in business development and marketing activities * Assist in discipline related and group business development initiatives * Any other adhoc duties which fall within the individual's abilities * Demonstrate and role model the Charles Taylor six Core Values by ensuring a Supportive Environment, upholding Excellence in People, focusing on Partnership with Clients, delivering High quality Work, promoting Group-wide Entrepreneurship and having an Appetite for Change. Required Skills * Sailed as a Master Mariner or Unlimited Chief Engineer * College Graduate, maritime college preferred or equivalent time in maritime industry - five years sea-going experience in a certificated position, or five years' experience in a marine surveying field, or five years comparable marine experience * Previous experience as a Marine Surveyor, Cargo & Hull & Machinery (H&M) are preferable * Certification from NAMS Global preferred but not required * Report and technical writing skills are paramount * Technologically savvy regarding learning new software systems, the Microsoft suite of products, Adobe and others. * Highly motivated, positive, approachable, enthusiastic and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail * Superb communication and interpersonal skills * Commercially astute Why join Charles Taylor?
