Key Responsibilities: • Responsible for supporting Microbiology activities at JJSA in Raritan, NJ including sample processing, safety, and training. • Responsible for supporting sample processing activities in support of new product • Activities related to supporting the testing of samples at the JJSA Raritan site, including: o Testing through sterility test isolators; o Microbial compendia tests and test method qualifications o Routine testing such as bioburden, endotoxin, growth promotion, Gram stain, and microbial identifications according to SOPs o Receipt, testing, and shipment of all microbiology samples including all documentation and reporting of results • Responsible for all ancillary equipment associated with microbiological testing including: • Calibration and maintenance of all (identify ancillary micro equipment here) • Supporting the development of microbiological methods • Support the execution of all microbiology sample testing in a timely manner to ensure optimal turn-around time for all sample processing requests. • Ensure all ancillary microbiology lab materials are stocked, qualified and ready for use. • Ensure all training requirements for all microbiology equipment, test methods and processes are completed and up to date • Responsible for supporting the completion of all supported microbiology sample testing requests, including supporting documentation and reports. • Documentation practices in accordance cGMP • Collate data and documentation for return to customers and generating completion reports. • Laboratory tasks such as general housekeeping, equipment monitoring and maintenance, inventory of supplies, etc. • Maintain quality and regulatory compliance in all aspects of work • Support the requirements for Quality Systems activities (as required)
Qualifications
Individual must have an undergraduate degree in Microbiology or Molecular Biology (or closely related equivalent degree). o Minimum of 2 years laboratory experience in industry or academia. o This individual must have demonstrated capability to conduct microbiological tests and studies under minimal supervision. o Demonstrated good aseptic technique preferred. o The individual must have the ability to work with minimal supervision. o Ability to write and update standard operating procedures, protocols, test methods, reports and prepare Power Point presentations is required o Knowledgeable of good documentation practices/accurate record keeping of the work performed is required. o The individual must be able to comply with established safety procedures and policies to maintain a safe working environment, ensure compliance with J&J environmental policies, pollution prevention goals, and regulatory requirements. o Desire and ability to cross-train on skills and responsibilities to operate all necessary equipment in multiple terminal sterilization modalities is required.
