As an Ecologist/Staff Scientist for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be part of a project team that helps our clients navigate today's complex environmental regulatory landscape to achieve and maintain compliance with the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and related regulations. You will assist with wetland and stream delineations, ecological monitoring/assessment field activities, and prepare reports and permit applications.

  • B.S. (preferably a M.S.) degree in a natural sciences field (e.g., Ecology, Biology, Environmental Sciences);
  • 1 to 4 years of experience performing wetland and stream delineations;
  • Experience with Sections 401 and 404 Clean Water Act regulations and permitting;
  • Familiarity with threatened and endangered species surveys and habitat assessments;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional qualifications that are a plus:
  • Completion of a 40-hour wetland delineation training course;
  • Familiarity with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation;
  • Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS).
