*Responsibilities: *

* Receive and process laboratory samples following standard procedures with great attention to detail.

* Perform nucleic acid extraction and purification manually and/or on automated platforms from different sample types.

* Quality control of incoming material and extracted DNA and RNA.

* Provide timely reports of data, analysis, and status updates.

* Sample management and data transfer to other Operations teams.

* Escalates issues to a supervisor when problems arise with sample processing.

* Maintain appropriate supplies and equipment to maximize department efficiency and meet established budgetary and quality goals.

*Requirements:*

* BA/BS in a biological discipline.

* 0-5+ years of relevant laboratory experience as a laboratory technician.

* Experience with lab automation systems and liquid handlers a plus

* Knowledge of LIMS software

* Must have working knowledge of techniques for manipulation of RNA and DNA.

* Excellent organization and communication skills.

* Knowledge of genomics is preferable.

* Strong desire to work in a demanding, high-energy, hands-on environment.

* Ability to work within a team.

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
