JOB DESCRIPTION

TheEHS Director is responsible for leading and optimizing the safety operations of multi-site manufacturing facilities and is comfortable in applicable environmental, health and safety regulations.

The hands-on EHS Directormust excel at work driven by both proactive and reactive factors, with a key focus on addressing employee and stakeholder concerns. The candidate must take pride in their relationship-building and teamwork approach, analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.The role may be located in McHenry, IL, or Tacoma, WA area.

Responsibilities:

* Plan, implement and manage safety/environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

* Plan, implement and manage programs to train managers and employees in worksite safety practices, for example, but not limited to fire prevention, lockout/tagout, fall protection, and accurate handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.

* Prepare studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.

* Inspect organization facility to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.

* Lead the timely investigation of accidents, injuries, and near misses

* Compile and submit accident and/or environmental reports required by the company and regulatory agencies. Lead risk assessment updates and audits.

* Ensure timely submittal, acquisition, and maintenance of all environmental permits and reports to maintain compliance with state and federal requirements.

* Work closely with site leadership and EHSRepresentatives to implement and ensure adherence to all company EHS policies and best practices across 4 manufacturing sites.

* Serve as EHS Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the company.Act as Company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety, health, and environmental matters affecting the locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

* 7+ years ofprogressive EHS experience with at least 3 years in a lead role (supervisor/manager/site lead). Manufacturing environment required - multi-site a plus!

* Bachelors degree required - CSP or CIH certification a plus!

* Knowledge of regulatory agencies and requirements

* Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization

* Ability to work effectively and efficiently while managing competing demands and tight deadline

* Well organized with meticulous attention to detail

* Travel to other sites as required

The compensation package includes a competitive base salary and bonus program.
