Overview:

The primary purpose of this job is to be responsible for the development, management, support and continuous improvement of environmental, health and safety programs at the plant.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and monitor 45001 certification
  • Assists in formulating general EHS policies and procedures at the plant in compliance with the OSHA and EPA rules and regulations.
  • Manages plant specific air, water, waste management and pollution prevention programs and maintains licenses, permits, and ISO 14001 Registration.
  • Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention, safety and environmental programs.
  • Participates in the investigation of EHS related incidents
  • Reviews and provides feedback on planned changes to facility, process, equipment and materials to operating facility management as they may relate to EHS issues.
  • Inspects facility to detect existing or potential hazards to safety, health and environment and recommends and tracks corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
  • Develops and leads safety team


Qualification:

• Maintains EHS regulatory, management system and related records.
• Makes studies and analyses of industrial accidents and health hazards for the use by company personnel and outside agencies. Analyzes trends and develops specific improvement alternatives.
• Compiles and submits incident reports required by company policy and regulatory agencies.
• Develops, coordinates, conducts or arranges EHS related training.
• Establish programs that accelerate the return to work of injured employees and light duty jobs that allow injured employees to safely return to work. This includes working with the insurance carrier to cut down on unjust claims
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; with 3-5 years related experience.
