Under direct supervision, the Research Assistant will help with the routine tasks and facilitate the ongoing work by other researchers in the lab.

  • Carry out experiments and research according to protocols laid out by primary researchers.
  • Collect and log experimental data.
  • Conduct statistical analyses of data sets.
  • Prepare graphs and spreadsheets to portray results.
  • Create presentation slides and posters to help researchers' present findings.
  • Review print and online resources to gather information.
  • Check facts, proofread, and edit research documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience with molecular biology (including molecular cloning, PCR, DNA extraction and purification), cell cultures and basic animal handling is preferred.
  • Great organizational and record keeping skills and attention to detail are an essential component of this position.
  • Ability to work pro-actively and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
