This position will report to the applicable Manager of EH&S. This position will assist in implementation of EH&S requirements established by Federal, State and Local regulations as well as Electric Boat's policy and procedures to include:

This position will report to the applicable Manager of EH&S. This position will assist in implementation of EH&S requirements established by Federal, State and Local regulations as well as Electric Boat's policy and procedures to include:
- Interfacing with management and various levels of operations leadership
- Work with safety/industrial hygiene/enviromental personnel on projects
- Conduct safety or environmental inspections and reports
- Participate in accident investigations, analyze safety and health data and recommended actions
- Other duties as needed to support emergent issues
Please note: This EH&S Internship is based in our Groton, CT location.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree related to EH&S.
- Other relevant degrees are encouraged to apply.
- Students must be going into their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year of College as of May 2021.
- Students must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum of eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2021 to September 2021.
- Candidates must support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind GDEB culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures.
Preferred
- Familiarity with OSHA safety and health standards or environmental regulations.
- Strong interest in safety and/or industrial hygiene fields, or
- Strong interest in environmental sciences/engineering and how environmental regulations apply in the shipbuilding environment.
- Strong interest in a shipyard trade or construction environment.

- Ability to solve problems in a constructive manner
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Office)
