We are seeking an experienced B.S./M.S. Computational Biologist to help in our drug discovery efforts. This is a hands-on, full-time, research position that requires strong expertise in computational biology Key Responsibilities Perform the analysis, visualization, and interpretation of large biological datasets (including but not limited to RNA-seq data) Derive insights from internally generated and publicly available next-generation sequencing (NGS) datasets and other genomic data Contribute towards the maintenance and improvement of Dicerna's computational pipelines Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment to provide conceptual input in experimental design Summarize, visualize, and communicate analyses and findings to key stakeholders Generate technical reports, prepare presentation slides, and improve existing analytic tools Maintain thorough written records of experiments and methods Qualifications B.S./M.S. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Systems Biology, Genetics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field Fluency in Unix/Linux shell computing environment Fluency in R or Python Hands-on experience with common bioinformatics tools (such as genome browsers) and major public genomics databases Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Commitment to quality, attention to detail, and team player mentality is a must Hands-on experience on the computational analysis and interpretation of NGS datasets is preferred Experience with RNA-seq analysis is highly desirable Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) or cloud computing platform is a plus Wet-lab molecular biology and cell biology experience is a plus Experience with RNAi is a plus
