JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Harrisburg - Central Pennsylvania Research and Teaching Laboratory for Biofuels is looking for a full time Research Technologist. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and desired expertise: * Experience preparing stock solutions, tissue culture media, plant transformation, molecular analysis of transgenic plants * Experience with plant care, fertilization, acclimatization of tissue culture derived plants, treating plants for disease and pest infestation. * Molecular Biology experience - CRISPR-Cas9, RNA, protein extractions and qRT-PCR * Hands-on experience generating and/or analyzing omics data sets * Experience with writing standard operating procedures (SOPs) * Strong communication skills and knowledge of basic computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel * Must be agreeable to flexible work schedule and willing to work on weekends Typical requirements of the position are a Bachelor's degree or higher (in life science, horticulture or plant sciences, plant molecular biology or plant biotechnology discipline) plus four years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates with a Master's degree and at least two years of experience in a plant biology laboratory and greenhouse managing transgenic plants are preferred.
