Job Description
We are recruiting an Associate Principal Scientist to join the Process Cell Sciences team, helping to advance our Company's biologics and cell/gene therapy pipeline portfolio. The individual will lead a critical functional team covering systems biology, biomarker development, and predictive modeling. Candidate should demonstrate and stay up to date on the knowledge of principles and theories related to genetics, cytogenetics, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, single cell analysis and genome editing technologies. Based in New Jersey, the Principal Scientist will operate in a highly collaborative environment, partnering with process development, analytics, regulatory affairs and other groups on site and at our Company's other locations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the Systems biology and predictive modeling team.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in pipeline programs.
- Interface and collaborate with other functional teams in Discovery, Analytics, Operation, CRO/CMO outsourcing in the planning, execution, and technical troubleshooting.
- Responsible for developing cutting-edge technologies and implementing into platform.
- Manage, train and guide junior team members.
- Responsible for memos, technical reports and relevant sessions of IND filing.
Educational Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Molecular Biology or related area with a minimum of 5 years of biologics industry or related experience.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Experienced in leading biologics pipeline programs and functional team.
- Strong knowledge and strong record of scientific skills in molecular biology, gene editing, NGS, proteomics and current bioinformatics analysis tools.
- Management and leadership experience.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Excellent project leadership skills in driving for results and innovation.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experienced in hematopoietic cell culture or iPSC generation.
- Experienced in vector engineering and single cell analysis
- Experienced in protein characterization and structural biology
- Experienced in pathway analysis of transcriptome profile with common analysis tools.
- Experience of database and statistical software (e.g. Excel, Access, JMP)
- Familiar with method of cell count, cell viability measurement, ELISA and FACS staining.
