Job Summary:
• The Candidate MUST understand the innerworkings of an environmental lab.
• The Lab Manager leads 6+ direct reports and will be very hands-on in their development.
• The Candidate needs to have tenacity and remain composed under pressure. High expectations are in place.
• Must love a challenge and have the strong ability to absorb many tasks and delegate as needed.
• The Lab Manager needs to be someone who will strengthen the team.
• This is a Client-serving role.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or another Environmental Science-related field is required.
• 5 - 10 years' previous analytical and environmental lab experience, preferably in multiple different laboratory departments.
• Previous Lab Management experience.
• Previous experience with EPA regulations.
• Seeking a qualified individual to serve as the manager at one of the facilities within the nationwide network of environmental and agricultural laboratories.
• Strong leadership abilities and can manage the overall day-to-day operation of the lab.
Responsibilities:
• Managing 6+ Direct Reports.
• Managing a team of 20+ employees; providing guidance to the various department leads.
• Manage the overall day-to-day operation of the lab.
• Assuring that the lab meets its data quality goals and customer needs for turnaround time.
• Assisting with instrument maintenance and other technical issues.
• Interacting with and providing feedback to the corporate office concerning the status of laboratory activities and any potential problems being encountered.
