Bocar US has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for assisting the EHS Manager in the development, implementation, coordination and monitoring of employee safety programs aimed at prevention and early intervention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for inspecting and monitoring a positive EHS culture while maintaining a safe work environment for employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and departments to support the facility vision.
  • Facilitate site programs that will help ensure compliance with EHS regulations and add business value for the site through interaction with all levels of employees.
  • Performs workplace safety orientations for new employees, as required, and refresher workplace EHS training for existing employees.
  • Collect storm water, wastewater and waste samples for analysis.
  • Review sampling data for regulatory reporting. Conduct daily, quarterly, and annual EHS site inspections.
  • Communicate results, corrective actions and status of open action plan.
  • Support and conduct incident investigations as needed to ensure causal factors identified, corrective actions created and implemented and track to completion.
  • Build and utilize an Industrial Hygiene (IH) Database to develop and project surveillance data collection and documentation.


REQUIREMENTS (including educational requirements)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or other closely related degree required.
  • Must have 3 years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience in plant EH&S as a team member, contributor, or leader.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, assist in the development and implementation of training programs, policy changes, and preparation of reports.
  • Proven progressive experience to offer recommendations for continuous improvement.
