Iowa Western is currently seeking an experienced online and face-to-face Biology instructor to teach online Biology courses.
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for teaching classes as assigned by the Dean. Must evaluate and report student performances and progress in courses in accordance with College and division policies and procedures. Must meet Adjunct Faculty qualifications and adhere to any contract requirements. Candidate must be student-focused and willing to work in face-to-face and online environments utilizing technology and learning resources adopted to support student success.
Required Qualification
Possess a Master's degree in Biological Sciences or other closely related Master's Degree from a regionally accredited graduate school, or possess a master's degree from a regionally accredited graduate school and have successfully completed 18 graduate credit hours in Biological Sciences.
Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualification
Teaching experience is preferred. Proven ability to collaborate with faculty and staff.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and use a phone, and some travel, by vehicle, may be required. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, strong management and organizational skills, reasoning/analysis, ability work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving, decision-making, and high degree of interpersonal skills is required. Work is routinely performed in an office environment.
