As part of the biology R & D team you will be at the forefront of protein and cell analysis, developing, fabricating and testing fluorescent reagents for single cell analysis using high-dimensional flow cytometry and microscopy. The scientist in this role will work independently and as part of a team of scientist to develop products aimed at single cell immunophenotyping via spectral flow cytometry.
What will you do?
- Validate and support the commercialization of new reagents for high-dimensional flow cytometry.
- Conduct functional testing of research- and commercial-use bioconjugates.
- Closely follow standard operating procedures while adhering to all safety requirements.
- Design and execute experimental plans, troubleshooting, data analysis, and reporting of results.
- Directly interact with senior R&D leadership, product management, and project management to develop and execute project plans that support product development initiatives.
- Manage multiple experiments concurrently to meet product release timelines.
- Provide a significant level of independence and strong teamwork.
- Maintain?in-depth?knowledge of relevant?fields?and?techniques.
How will you get here?
Education
- MS in immunology, biology, biochemistry or related field.
- BS with 3 years' relevant experience.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in immunology, biology, molecular biology or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years experience staining, acquiring and analyzing cells in flow cytometry.
- Experience in industrial setting preferred.
- Experience in fluorescence microscopy preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience in industrial setting preferred.
- Hands-on experience with multi-color extracellular staining and flow cytometry.
- Understanding of cytometry data analysis techniques (e.g. population gating, compensation, etc.).
- Proficiency with flow cytometry analysis software (e.g. FlowJo).
- Experience preparing and culturing human and mouse primary immune cells preferred.
- Ability to process tissue and isolate cells, particularly human PBMCs and mouse splenocytes.
- Experience following standard operating procedures with a focus on reproducibility.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work alongside colleagues from different backgrounds.
- The ability to identify potential problems and provide relevant solutions.
- Ability to succeed with a moderate level of supervision and guidance.
