Microbiologist

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Perform microbiological testing on a large variety of sample types utilizing established compendial methods, internal SOPs, client methods and procedures, and study protocols.
• Design and review of test procedures.
• Evaluates, records, and reviews data.
• Documents processes using good documentation practices.
• Work closely with our laboratory personnel and environmental monitoring team.
• Follows current GMP requirements and complies with company safety policies.
• Maintains the laboratory equipment and participates in laboratory disinfection and cleaning.
• Performs microbial identifications using manual testing and automated systems.
• Maintains adequate inventory of media and materials required for testing.
• Notifies laboratory supervisor, or designee, when out-of-specification results are obtained, and completes appropriate documentation and assists in the investigation.
• Performs data entry for tracking and trending of lab data.
• Assists in special projects as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in biological science or related science field
• Experience with microbiological processes and aseptic technique
• Experience working in a regulated environment (GLP or GMP)
• Ability to make basic mathematical computations
• Ability to operate in a detail-oriented, self-directed manner
• Ability to work independently and within a team
