What youll learn & achieve::
The EHS Program Manager, Environment and Transportation, is responsible for creating, implementing and monitoring global environmental and transportation of hazardous materials/waste policies, reporting, training and auditing to ensure compliance to company requirements and regulations. Oversees the coordination of program activities within EHS. Organizes interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the program initiatives on schedule and within budget constraints.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Serves as an environmental and expert with experience in air, water and land compliance and transportation safety such as hazardous waste transportation, hazardous waste disposal, CFR Part 49, EPA regulations such as Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, SPCC, CERCLA, EPCRA, Tier II reporting, etc. Maintains up to date knowledge of laws and regulations that impact the organization. Updates the organization on new regulations.Develops environmental programs to ensure compliance to regulations.Develops policies to ensure the safe transportation of hazardous materials and waste to meet company requirements and regulatory compliance. Drives consistent implementation of environmental requirements per ULs expectations and in conformance with applicable laws and regulations and governmental guidelines (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.).Work with UL locations regarding completing environmental reports and sampling.Partner with the Sustainability Council for Environmental compliance and reporting.Trains other EHS Specialists on UL policies, practices and new regulations.Effectively conduct instructor led training for all levels of the organization.Effectively communicate policy requirements to all levels of the organization.Travel globally approximately up to 15% of the time.Performs other duties as directed.

What makes you a great fit::
Bachelors degree in environmental engineering, hydrogeology, chemical engineering, environmental science, sustainability, geology, or other environmental related degree plus additional requirement of one of the following:Related Masters degree or Certified Industrial Hygienist (American Board of Industrial Hygiene) or Professional Engineer license or Certified Safety Professional (Board of Certified Safety Professionals)8+ years directly related experience.
