Kelly Science & Clinical is currently recruiting candidates for a Direct Hire Microbiologist Research Associate position at a bioremediation company in Houston TX. The overall responsibility of the position is to work within a team to provide microbiological expertise for product development and scale up for commercial purposes.

*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:*

* Work with aerobic and anaerobic microbiology, including phototrophic and chemolitrotrophic

* Responsible for microbial growth, isolation, and identification

* Design microcosms studies

* Conduct experiments and take measurements

* Write, modify, and optimize protocols

* Analyze and present data in suitable visual or tabular form

*REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:*

* BS or MS degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field

* 1-3 years of wet lab experience

* Experience in bioremediation

* Capable of running analytical assays and troubleshooting equipment

* Demonstrated experience with anaerobic microbiology practices

* Experience in cell culture and cryopreservation

* Experience with automated fermenters

* Knowledge or molecular tools and gene sequencing for microbial identification is desired

* Experience with cultivation of microalgae is a plus

* Experience with cells lyophilization is a plus

This is a direct hire opportunity with a Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, work schedule. Compensation is commensurate upon level of education and applicable experience.
