The EHS Specialist is responsible for maintaining the Facility and Laboratory compliance programs and protocols. Additionally, the candidate shall assist in developing and implementing compliance programs.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all company facilities and operations abide by local and state law by enforcing company policies.
- Conduct inspections for the laboratory, including detailed checklists, documentation, and follow-up to confirm that all issues have been addressed.
- Ensure relative OSHA standards are followed.
- Manage and oversee proper waste destruction procedures.
- Manage chemical waste storage areas and ensure personnel is adhering to proper protocols.
- Coordinate with our hazardous waste provider to conduct waste removal.
- Oversee diversion prevention techniques and procedures.
- Work with the Quality Assurance department to ensure proper protocols are being followed.
- Conduct investigation protocols for employees suspected of operating outside of compliance standards.
- Prepare, review, and execute security and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provide training to agents during new hire orientation or re-current training throughout the year.
- Create, review, and approve incident reports
- Maintain lists of agents authorized to access designated areas of the laboratory.
- Assist in developing and implementing short and long-term plans for personnel and guest safety and asset protection.
- Act as the Chemical Hygiene Officer and maintain evacuation ordinance requirements, emergency evacuation/fire drills, emergency manuals, signage, etc.
- Respond to reported medical emergencies, threats, fire alarms, and intrusion alarms, following established emergency response procedures.
- Respond to emergency chemical spills.
- Responsible for Lab Waste streams as well
- Evaluate, recommend, and maintain programs that continually improve safety.
Qualification
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- 5-7 years' Facilities Management experience. Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass a background check.
- Preferred experience, working in a laboratory or on a worksite, training others.
- Outstanding and proven leadership, team building, managerial, and communication skills.
