Scope of Position: Responsible for Expeditors Global Environmental Program. Plan and manage special projects of varying size, scope and complexity and coordinate related environmental work across the organization.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary contact for Expeditors Environmental Programs and Strategies
- Understand and utilize data in establishing and successfully achieving environmentally related targets and goals
- Monitor, analyze, and report Expeditors' Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO2 emissions to support and drive reduction in company carbon footprint
- Administer Sustainability software (Scope5), and support training for new users
- Collect Scope 1, Scope 2, and water use data from district Green Team leaders and expand scope as directed including Scope 3
- Report environmental data through CDP for customers and investors and complete CDP's Supply Chain questionnaire by annual program deadlineMaintain participation in EPA SmartWay program, compile and submit data to EPA by annual program deadline
- Manage and support software tools such as EcoTransIT, for customers to measure transportation CO2 footprint
- Support Product, Sales and Account Management with bids, presentations, discussions, and marketing materials related to our environmental sustainability programs and strategies
- Support Regional Green Team leaders with Branch Green Teams and program initiatives
- Participate on Expeditors ESG Committee and collaborate with Social Responsibility and Health & Safety leaders in broader Company sustainability effort
- Represent Expeditors in industry organizations including Clean Cargo Working Group and the Sustainable Air Freight Alliance through participation in meetings, webinars, and discussions
- Manage and drive Environmental Sustainability within Service Provider Management program
- Schedule and lead global Green Team calls
- Partner with GEO to manage ISO 14001 certification
- Research and monitor environmental legislation as it impacts our Company and industry
- Research potential strategic partnership/stakeholder/working group opportunities
- Facilitate writing and publishing of articles and best practices for Expeditors internal and external websites
- Develop global environmental program training material
- Maintain current sales materials, databases, trainings, intranet (Insite) content
- Attend industry seminars and conferences, as necessary
- Experience with Corporate Environmental Sustainability Management, including GHG Accounting and Carbon Reduction initiatives
- Knowledge of current environmental industry trends, regulations and reporting requirements
- Strong program management background
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management and organization of published material
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, cloud meeting, and in person group settings
- Project management experience/certification
- Strong global transportation market and product knowledge
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Proficient with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and OneNote
