We are seeking a Laboratory Technologist- The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for accurate and timely processing, testing and resulting. Job duties include all routine bacteriologic and parasitologic procedures, including specimen processing, staining and interpretation of clinical samples, reading and interpretation of cultures, performance of susceptibility, rapid identification testing, and quality assurance procedures.

What Will You Be Doing?
  • Maintains technical and computer skills required in the laboratory.
  • Experience in similar testing including bacterial culture work up, susceptibility testing, automated and manual identification methods
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and upholds applicable laws and regulations related to position. Maintains knowledge of techniques, procedures, and protocols, lab-wide and within lab section. Reviews and acknowledges procedures as required. Assists with procedure and technical development and acts as a resource.
  • Demonstrates providing excellent customer service in an efficient and effective manner to assure customer satisfaction and quality patient care.
  • Performs routine and complex technical procedures and functions in the laboratory information system in an adequate and timely manner. Performs preventive maintenance and quality control with appropriate documentation and communication.
  • Responsible for presenting continuing education. Participates in special projects and presentation of results. Assists with development and monitoring of specific competencies. Required to complete at least four hours of medical/technical continuing education, yearly.


What Are We Looking For?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess these minimum qualifications and experience:
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in medical laboratory science or have a bachelor's degree in an applicable science.
  • Experience in similar testing including bacterial culture work up, susceptibility testing, automated and manual identification methods
  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a Medical Technologist/Scientist or MLT is required. Non-certified hires will be required to pursue certification within the first three years of employment.
