WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Associate Consultant in our Seattle, WA, Boston, MA, or Chicago, IL office to support our company's growing Resilience Practice . This position can also be based out of any of our WSP USA offices. This new technical position is for a team member that will support our analysis of climate and environmental data, use geospatial tools for the visualization of data, support developing innovative methods for identifying community-level vulnerabilities and risk, and conduct research to support the appropriate thresholds that define climate impacts on infrastructure and communities. You will work with other experts from our Resilience Practice, including climate scientists, engineers, planners, economists, policy specialists, and risk modelers, and expand our organization to meet our growing portfolio of clients, for whom we identify their risk to climate-related hazards, including socio-economic impacts, and develop resilience strategies and plans to reduce these risks. Duties and Responsibilities: - Apply and develop scripts for analyzing environmental data, including climate model simulations, to assess current and future exposures, including researching appropriate climate stressor thresholds for climate impact assessments and examining environmental data for best-use purposes and appropriate applications - Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of exposure, vulnerability, risks, and resilience associated with long-term climate change considerations for a range of clients such as municipalities and infrastructure agencies - Research best practices and risk-based approaches to inform existing project work and build a strong foundation for supporting future clients - Prepare documentation that succinctly summarizes methodologies and results for technical and lay audiences - Participate on multiple projects, delivering on project commitments through effective coordination with internal colleagues, external resources and agencies, and consulting team partners - Contribute to a diverse team of experts working to advance the Resilience Practice through effective data-driven analysis and decision-making Talent is the essence of meeting our client's objectives, goals, and challenges. Job Requirements

> Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Sciences, Statistics, or a related field - 1+ year of experience working with tools and/or coding scripts for effective data visualization of environmental data, particularly atmospheric data - Experience routinely working on coding in programming languages such as R, Matlab, Python, Visual Basic and adapting scripts written by colleagues, enhanced by a strong aptitude in programming - Ability to seamlessly analyze and process data across software packages, such as R, Excel, and GIS - Proven capabilities for technical project delivery - Experience communicating orally and in writing technical analysis and results to non-technical audiences using data visualization and maps - Attention to detail; commitment and skills to identify and detect errors; commitment to thorough quality reviews and checks; and commitment to accuracy, correctness, and excellence - Ability to innovate on challenging topics to produce client-tailored products - Experience working both independently and on efforts requiring remote collaboration - Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures - Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred Qualifications: - Post Graduate Education - Experience working on climate data to inform hazard and impact analyses. - Experience analyzing the impacts to assets, infrastructure, and communities caused by climate-related hazards.
