As Environmental Specialist, you will be responsible for improving the environmental performance of the Jonesboro Manufacturing Plant by applying in-depth environmental knowledge to offer advice, guidance and solutions in the site's organizational compliance with local, state and federal environment health and safety regulations. In this highly visible role, you'll participate in developing the US/LATAM HSE regional team's Environmental/ Sustainability competency through assessments and continuous improvement events and will play a critical role in meeting and exceeding ABB's 2030 sustainability initiatives.Position Responsibilities: Provide metrics and KPI reports on environmental performance and progress in implementation of ABB's Sustainability objectives and all environment incidents and issuesAccountable for ensuring the Jonesboro Facility is compliant with environment-related laws, standards, and guidelines; Implements policies and standards and conducts audits on a regular on-going basisContribute to effective risk management of environment-related issues in the business by providing advice on key business decisions for the organizationHelps drive behavioral change, by implementing best practices and performance improvement programs locally to ensure a strong focus on environment throughout the plantEngages external (customers, suppliers) and internal stakeholders to raise awareness and gain commitment on ABB's environment efforts and performance; Collects and disseminates objective feedback, and leads collaboration with other functions, the Division and business partners to drive environmental performanceEnsure appropriate environmental equipment and tools are readily available and utilized consistentlyIdentify, plan and initiate training needs for employees, site managers, and agree with, and ensure delivery of training.Support, drive and ensure compliance with ABB's HSE management systems, including ISO 14001Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline with a minimum of 2-5 years of HSE experience, or the equivalent experience of 6-10 years of HSE experience with a specialization in environmental compliance.Must have environmental health and safety program and compliance & reporting experience in handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste materials, in support of RCRADirect experience with Industrial stormwater management, Air permitting management, Industrial Wastewater processes and management, DOT Hazardous Material Shipping expertise, and EPCRA reporting expertise (Tier 2 and Form-R) is highly preferredExperience using HSE management and performance software systems, such as Intelex is highly desirableCandidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United StateABB is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.To apply, please fill out the "Apply Now" form on this page.
