Kelly Science & Clinical is looking for a Research Associate in the soil science and microbiology area for a long-term contract role (one year plus) in Indianapolis, IN.

*This is a long term contract role (12+ month), and pay will be around $19 - $22/hr for this role depending on background and experience.*

*Responsibilities:*

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting lab and greenhouse bioassays including set-up, implementation, and assessment

• Carefully following established laboratory protocols and safety procedures

• Scheduling the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment

• Maintaining compliance with requirements for the handling and disposal of plant and microbial materials

• Data collection, management, and quality assurance

*Qualifications:*

*Required Qualifications *

• B.A./B.S. in Soil Science, Microbiology, Plant Biology, Biological Sciences, or a related area

• Experience conducting laboratory bioassays in a R&D setting

• Experience conducting greenhouse trials assessing plant growth and development

• Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills

• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, detail-orientation, and a desire to work in a dynamic laboratory environment

• Experience with scientific record keeping and familiarity with common software applications

• The ability to occasionally lift and move heavy objects (25-50 lbs)

*Preferred Qualifications*

• 2+ years of experience in a lab and/or greenhouse environment

• Experience with soil analyses and bacterial and/or fungal culturing

• Experience conducting experiments involving agricultural biologicals in a lab and/or greenhouse environment

• Experience with hyperspectral imaging

• Familiarity with lab equipment and data collection
