Job Description
Job Summary:

This position is responsible for developing and performing cell-based assays to assess the biological performance of vaccine candidates, performing mRNA synthesis and characterization, and supporting various areas of molecular biological assays.

Major Accountabilities:
RNA and LNP potency testing

• Perform cell-based assays for evaluation of mRNA-based vaccine candidates.
• Develop and perform novel cell-based assays for candidate screening.

mRNA production and molecular biology assays.

• Support cloning, RNA production and characterization.
• Support molecular biology assay development, such as qPCR and ddPCR.

Documentation and presentation of scientific results.

• Write experimental protocols and prepare internal reports. Maintain lab notebooks.
• Collaborate with project teams, present research results and contribute to technical advancements and publications.

Lab management.

• Maintain functional laboratory equipment and keep up with ordering and lab organizing.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in cell biology, RNA biology or molecular biology.
• BS with 5-7+ years experience, or MS with 3-5+ years of academic or pharmaceutical/biotech experience in cell biology, RNA biology or molecular biology.
• Strong experience in cell culture, including maintaining cell lines and primary cells, building new cell lines, and performing transfection and cell-based assays is required.
• Experience with RNA transcription and purification is desired.
• Experience in molecular cloning, sequence analysis, DNA/RNA quantification such as qPCR is desired.
• Creative and the ability to generate accurate and reproducible results along with multi-tasking and working effectively in a fast-paced environment are critical.
• Organizational, written and oral communication skills and ability to work in teams is required.
