The QAC Laboratory Microbiology Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the Microbiology and Environmental Monitoring laboratory teams in order to ensure complete and compliant testing of environmental systems and products to provide support for production, facility, engineering, and quality departments.
Physical Requirements:
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers and equipment
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate
• Frequent lifting with moderate exertion majority of shift
• Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coat and gloves required in some areas associated with this position
- Supervise QAC Laboratory Microbiology Team
- Perform human resource and payroll functions for the team including screening/interviewing candidates, performance review input, etc.
- Oversee QA/QC product/facilities/critical systems microbiological testing
- Collaborate with Engineering, Facilities, Regulatory, etc. to provide support for environmental monitoring and microbiological testing
- Collaborate with other laboratory teams to troubleshoot and provide guidance on testing, method development, and projects
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Ensure accurate and compliant data and record management
- Develop and maintain laboratory procedures as the process owner
- Mentor and train team members and coworkers
- BA/BS or MA/MS Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related field, or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
- Minimum 5 years laboratory experience with demonstrated leadership experience
