The company's Exploratory Science Center (ESC) Cambridge, a wholly owned subsidiary of our company, is focused on driving early discovery research. Co-located with our company's Cambridge Innovation Hub, the ESC's disease-area-agnostic research agenda fosters hands-on collaboration between our scientists and external academic and biotech researchers to access and explore the most promising emerging science.

We are seeking an innovative, dedicated, and highly motivated B.S/M.S. level scientist to join the Experimental Biology team at our company's ESC. The successful candidate will become part of a lab-based, creative, and fast-paced team that will discover novel biology and invent impactful technologies targeting oncology, inflammation, cardiovascular, metabolism and neuroscience.
This is a lab-based position and an excellent opportunity for someone seeking scientific and career growth in a multidisciplinary area of drug discovery. The candidate will be part of a cross-functional team contributing to the strategic direction of research programs across multiple therapeutic modalities.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
- Designing and executing diverse scientific experiments across several biological areas.
- Using leading-edge technologies and approaches in microfluidics and microphysiological systems to advance our understanding of human biology.
- Optimizing and implementing cell-based assays to characterize diverse targets and mechanism of actions, using sophisticated experimental methods.
- Work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment to advance drug discovery and achieve key milestones.
- Provide scientific mentoring and technical training of team members as appropriate.
- Ensure all laboratory safety protocols are followed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related field with 3+ years of research experience in academia or industry.
- Basic knowledge of cell biology, immunology and/or microbiology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related field with 2+ years of research experience in the industry.
- Prior experience with microfluidics and/or microphysiological systems.
- Prior research experience in host-microbe interactions.
- Solid experience in one or more of the following fields: cell biology, immunology and/or microbiology.
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
