We are currently looking for an entry-level Synthesis Chemist to join our team.

Job Brief

Polymer electrolyte production is a critical step that enables our MEA fabrication and experimental procedures and key to making technical progress. As a Synthesis Chemist, you will help us develop new synthetic protocol to fabricate monomers and polymers with desirable properties and upgrade the synthetic SOPs. You will have opportunities to work on projects in collaboration with other teams at Twelve across various disciplines; we want you to learn new things in this role.

What You Will Do
  • Process organic synthetic and polymerization reactions
  • Perform organic and polymer materials purification
  • Fabricate polymer electrolyte membrane
  • Perform basic materials characterization (such as NMR, HPLC, and GPC)
  • Analyze characterization data, summarize results, and present to the technical team
  • Work with project lead to update SOPs for polymer synthesis and pre/post treatment, and train other team members on SOPs
  • Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment


Who You Are
  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related STEM Field
  • You have hands-on work experience in a polymer/organic chemistry lab, with experience in synthesis, purification, characterization, and performance evaluation
  • You are familiar with polymer characterization techniques, such as GPC, HPLC, NMR, UV-Vis, and FT-IR
  • You have outstanding communication skills and ability to summarize data and present results effectively
  • You have high attention to detail and strong record-keeping, documentation, and organization skills
  • You are self-motivated and can work autonomously with minimal supervision
