Were looking for a Scientist to join our team and help us build our next portfolio of products. You will be involved in a variety of company verticals, including R&D, manufacturing, and analytical chemistry/process engineering. Your primary objective is to support our senior Research Fellow with product concept development (tip of the spear) and with ancillary customer account support. To be successful in this role, youll need extensive knowledge of microfluidics, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology. You should also be comfortable writing technical reports and analyses of your findings, with the goal of reporting results clearly to upper management and transferring research into manufacturing and production environments. We are a small but growing team and the applicant must be comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Self-motivated and driven applicants are encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Explore feasibility of potential products for internal and external end users .

* Experimental design, execution, and reporting in support of our senior scientific leadership.

* Qualitative and quantitative experiments at the interface of mcirofluidics, material science, polymer chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology.

* Write technical reports of the test results.

* Develop SOPs for direct reports and contractors to transition research into production and manufacturing.

* Periodically support general lab activities (we are a small but growing business).

* Ensure compliance with laboratory health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

* Extensive background in biochemistry with exposure to microfluidics, polymer chemistry, material science, and physics

* Experience to design/fabricate/operate microfluidic devices.

* Experience in particle synthesis

* Experience in protein crosslinking chemistry

* Good knowledge of laboratory health and safety standards

* Excellent analytical and research skills

* Attention to detail and excellent communication skills/systems

* PhD in Bioengineering/Chemistry/Biology/Material Science or equivalent

* 3+ years of industrial experience
