Our group studies prion strain biology, prion pathogenesis and the environmental fate of prions. We are interested in training a motivated postdoctoral fellow in areas of prion strain evolution using a combination of cutting-edge in vitro techniques and in vivo transmission studies. We are interested in understanding the molecular basis of how prion strains evolve and adapt to new environments and how strain tropism, strain interference and strain dynamics contribute to this process.
