Microbiology Teaching Laboratory Coordinator
Undergraduate Biology
The University of Kansas is accepting applications for Microbiology Teaching Laboratory
Coordinator. A primary responsibility of this position is to plan, prepare, and ensure adequate
supplies of appropriate media, reagents, and consumables for multiple Microbiology-related
laboratory courses. The position assists with setting up laboratory environments to ensure necessary
reagents, supplies, and equipment for proper course execution. Supervision of student laboratory
assistants is required to assist with meeting these responsibilities.
The university and undergraduate biology aspire to become a leader among its peer institutions in
making meaningful and lasting progress in responding to the needs and concerns of minority and
marginalized demographic groups. As such, applications from members of underrepresented groups
in higher education are highly encouraged.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related field that included formal
course(s) in Microbiology with one year of related experience. At least one year of laboratory
experience that includes microbial growth media and aseptic technique. Preference will be given to
applicants with experience preparing science laboratory courses.
