Our client is urgently hiring for NMR Spectroscopy/ Structural BiologistDESCRIPTION:Position SummaryThis role will make essential contributions to our structural biology drug discovery efforts using both external and internal resources. One of the primary responsibilities is to profile small molecule interactions with RNA starting with 1-D NMR and ultimately 3-D NMR to map the small molecule binding site to RNA. You will play a key role in the design and synthesis of RNA constructs as well as interpret NMR spectra to assign binding poses of small molecules to RNA to provide important structural information. A key aspect of this position is teamwork and the ability to collaborate with chemists, modelers, and the assay group to create and maintain a cohesive strategy to use structural biology to drive our medicinal chemistry efforts.Primary Responsibilities Design, synthesize and purify stably isotope-labeled RNA constructs in quantities suitable for NMR structural studies. Collect preliminary NMR data of ligands and their complexes with RNA to determine the feasibility of structural studies. Using internal and external resources, collect, process, and analyze multi-dimensional NMR spectra of RNA/ligand complexes with optimized sample and experimental parameters for the purposes of 3-D structure determination. Determine the structure of RNA /ligand complexes using NMR data as input into a state-of-the-art software package. (i.e., CYANA, AMBER, etc.) Work with project teams in using the structural data to facilitate and accelerate medicinal chemistry efforts Clearly document experimental efforts and results by both oral presentation and written reports.SKILLS:rna, nmr spectroscopy, Data analysis, analysisTOP SKILLS DETAILS:rna, nmr spectroscopyADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Qualifications Ph.D. in biophysics, chemistry, structural biology or related field or M.S. and 4 years structural biology experience. Experience in the synthesis and purification of stable isotope-labeled RNA using enzymatic in vitro transcription methods. Expertise in solution structure determinations of RNA by NMR, including data acquisition, spectral analysis, and computing structures from NMR spectroscopic parameters. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment. Experience with in vitro binding assays and biophysical techniques is a plus. Experience in x-ray crystallography of RNA is a plus.EXPERIENCE LEVEL:Intermediate Level ABOUT AEROTEK: We know that a company's success starts with its employees.
