Voyant Danville, located in Danville, Illinois is a large campus and collectively contain 18 aerosol and liquid filling and packaging lines. Voyant's Danville facilities procure, blend, fill and package a wide variety aerosol and liquid personal care and OTC consumer packaged goods.

Responsibilities

Description

Laboratory work is primarily intellectual, and generally cannot be standardized with respect needed to arrive at results. Therefore, it is up to the employee to exercise control over how to carry out tasks as well as his/her hours of work.

Test raw materials and finished products for microbial contamination.

Test water samples for chemical and microbial quality.

Validate all procedures used in the Micro Laboratory.

Analysis and approval of line samples.

Assist in production problems -trouble shooting.

Provide assistance in training personnel.

Perform stability testing on OTC production.

Coordinate the preparation of media.

Improve Housekeeping and comply with customer's audits.

Other duties and/or projects necessitated by the position.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor degree in Microbiology from four year college or university in or related science and strong chemical background experience.

  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to common inquiries and complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publications that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.

Analytical:
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.), in most difficult phases.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
