Regenerative Ranching Systems Researcher Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for:
  • Collaborating and providing leadership, in the development of research team(s) focused on the management transition of conventional agronomic grazingland systems to regenerative ranching systems and operations.
  • Collaborating and providing leadership, in the development of research team(s) focused on regenerating ecological function, soil health, and increasing diversity in grazingland systems.
  • Collaborating and providing leadership, in the development of research team(s) focused on the livestock forage finishing systems within a regenerative ranching context.
  • Act as scientific lead, identifying new hypotheses for investigation based on grazingland management strategies, data evaluations, and documented producer needs in the regenerative ranching systems landscape.
  • Lead, guide, or assist agile research team(s) in applying consistent and repeatable data collection and evaluation methods and/or tools in regenerative ranching systems.
  • Lead in the development of research priorities using scientific and agile principles within a regenerative ranching systems framework.
  • Act as a lead or advisor to research teams, ranch staff, consultants, and producers in developing integrated regenerative ranch management plans.
  • Engage and communicate with producers on topics related to grazingland ecology topics.
  • Use scientific training to assist in building future experimental integrations focused on understanding the ecologic and economic impacts of management in grazingland systems.
  • Act as scientific liaison for Noble and collaborators on the findings within the grazingland ecology space.


A Ph.D. in a STEM related field along with a minimum of 10 years experience in agricultural research area with a minimum of 5 years experience managing a team or teams are required. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are essential.
