Job Description Millions! Novartis made a decision to pursue early discovery research internally that allows us to quickly translate the most impactful discoveries into therapeutics for millions of patients. The Oncology Drug Discovery Team is seeking a motivated scientist to join a dynamic team applying state of the art technology and innovative methodology in cell biology to cancer drug discovery. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to design and execute sophisticated assays that inform drug discovery and/or basic biology. The candidate must demonstrate creative problem solving skills and the ability to execute experiments to enable the discovery of new oncology drugs.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
 Independently design and perform experiments with a high degree of complexity, demonstrating expertise in a wide range of cell-based techniques.
 Ability to troubleshoot various cell based assays and perform data analysis using standard analysis tools.
 Enter data generated in databases and present your results in project team meetings.
 Independent in thought and results driven while possessing strong and positive communication and team skills.
 Be a self-starter and independently seek out opportunities to learn and contribute to Oncology and the larger NIBR organization.

Minimum requirements What you'll bring to the role:
 BS/MS Degree in a biology or biochemistry related field, with 3+ years of bench work experience
 Proven track record of assay development in an academic or industrial environment
 Experience in or the aptitude to learn large-scale data handling and databases
 Experience in laboratory automation and interest in novel readout technologies with experience in High-Throughput assays an advantage
 Highly self-motivated, collaborative team worker with exceptional organizational skills.
