Position Summary:
The Biomarker Sciences department is seeking an Associate Scientist/Sr. Associate Scientist to join the Biomarker Assay Technologies group. Biomarker Assay Technologies is responsible for development, qualification and implementation of biomarker methods and assays across protein and nucleic acid based assays, including ligand binding and enzymatic assays, flow cytometry and transcript-measurement technologies, and across all therapeutic areas.

The Biomarker Sciences department is seeking an Associate Scientist/Sr. Associate Scientist to join the Biomarker Assay Technologies group. Biomarker Assay Technologies is responsible for development, qualification and implementation of biomarker methods and assays across protein and nucleic acid based assays, including ligand binding and enzymatic assays, flow cytometry and transcript-measurement technologies, and across all therapeutic areas.
Essential Duties:
- Develop, document and qualify biomarker methods and assays to support pharmacodynamic and exploratory biomarker activities across therapeutic areas
- Familiarity and/or experience with assays performance across multiple platforms, including ligand binding (ELISA, MSD, Luminex, Aushon, SMC, etc.), flow cytometry, and genomics
- Explore and evaluate new assay technologies and platforms
- Support PBMC collection in clinical trials through development of protocols and documents, web-based & in-person training of PBMC processing labs, assessment of PBMC processing lab technical proficiency, and maintenance of routine documentation
- Work closely with Clinical Operations/Biomarker Operations teams on PBMC processing labs activation and documentation related activities
Job Functions:
- Develop, document and validate protocols for liquid handling systems (i.e., epMotion)
- Communicate through high impact and clear presentations on data to the department, working groups, and project teams
- Must think critically and creatively, design and interpret experiments
- Must be able to work independently and to determine appropriate resources for resolution of problems
- Act as a SME for PBMC and immunoassay related activities within the Biomarker Sciences department and cross-functionally with other groups.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- 9 years (Assoc Scientist) to 14 years (Sr Assoc Scientist) of working experience required
- Intensive hands-on experience on PBMC isolation, immunoassays and cell culture technologies required
- Experience with flow cytometry and genomic technologies nice to have
- Demonstrated track record of attention to documentation and detail
- Demonstrated skill in internal and external customer management
Education:
- BSc in biological science field required
