Job Description
Our Quantitative Sciences team uses big data to analyze the safety and efficacy claims of our potential medical breakthroughs. We review the quality and reliability of clinical studies using deep scientific knowledge, statistical analysis, and high-quality data to support decision-making in clinical trials.
Become part of cutting-edge and highly innovative Chemical Biology and Quantitative Biosciences departments. Using robust scientific methodology, novel translational models, and state-of-the-art instrumentation and automation, we collaborate to discover the next medical breakthrough. To achieve our goal, we have added new capability enhancements for higher-resolution interrogation of novel biology and the molecular mechanism of action of molecules that help advance the best drug candidates into the clinic.
Target discovery is critical to the success of drug discovery.
We are therefore seeking an innovative cell biologist to join the Chemical Biology group at our company's Research Laboratories in Boston/Cambridge to help us in this endeavor.
- Become part of a creative and flexible team; collaborate and work closely with other scientists
- Contribute to project strategy, experimental design, analysis, and interpretation of experiments
- Collaborate with Oncology, Metabolic Disease, Neuroscience, and Infectious Disease discovery teams to develop and execute on phenotypic screening strategy
- The successful candidate will be able to design cell-based experiments using genetic and pharmacological manipulation of pathways and proteins in relevant cell systems to validate novel targets and characterize the molecular mode of action of tool molecules
- Establish strong relationships within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams to effectively drive early drug discovery initiatives
- Function and communicate effectively in a highly productive multi-disciplinary environment
Preferred Experience and Skills
- A background in cell-based assay development to interrogate compound effects on phenotypes of interest
- Preference will be given to candidates with a background in cell biology/pharmacology, chemical biology, protein degradation, and the utilization of chemical tools to elucidate mechanism of action
- A track record of achievement in independently designing and executing experiments is required
- Highly self-motivated and capable of prioritizing deliverables among multiple simultaneous projects
- Have a strong understanding of biological concepts and phenotypic screening workflows
- Possess strong analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong communication (oral and written) skills
Qualifications/Education
