Job Summary
The entry-level environmental scientist at ES&M is the preferred entry point into the organization, as this role provides the requisite introduction to field work and opportunity to develop the field craft that is foundational to a career in environmental consulting. This position involves a heavy diet of work in the field, sometimes with teams, sometimes alone. As the environmental scientist progresses in the role, s/he takes on occasional support tasks such as data collation and interpretation, boring log and cross-section completion, geologic interpretation, and writing sections of reports, etc. Advancement within the entry-level environmental scientist role at ES&M is based upon the individual's performance.

Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities
• Conduct all work safely, following company, OSHA and site-specific health & safety plan guidance. All employees are empowered to stop work in any unsafe situation.
• Collection of environmental samples in a variety of matrices: air, water and soil
• Drilling oversight; collection of soil samples; geologic interpretation; development and refinement of field-based conceptual site models
• Assistance with remediation operation, monitoring and maintenance
• Manipulate and interpret data from various sources, such as sample analysis, environmental monitoring results and more
• Share technical information via multiple methods of communication, including written reports
• Contribute to providing science and regulatory based guidance and recommendations to public and private clients for the protection of water, soil and air resources

Job Skills & Qualifications; required:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, or a related field
• 0-2 years of work experience
• Ability to follow safe work instructions and to work safely in field
• Self-motivated personality with the ability to manage own time
• Ability to work collaboratively with others, as well as effectively on one's own
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper training preferred
• Valid US driver's license
• Ability to work legally in the USA
