Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks a full-time Program Chair for the Conservation (Wildlife) Law Enforcement Program at the Elbert County Campus located in Elberton, Georgia. The Program Chair will provide leadership to the conservation law enforcement program faculty and is responsible to the Dean of Life Sciences and Public Safety for fulfilling both administrative and teaching activities. This is a full-time twelve (12) month faculty position.

We are seeking a dynamic educator, and communicator to teach courses in Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Policy and Law, Habitat Manipulation, Management, Wildlife Techniques, and Habitat Management, and/or other courses in the candidate's area of expertise.

The successful applicant will be expected to implement course materials that support stated initiatives and use appropriate techniques to provide students with the knowledge needed to achieve the learning outcomes for each criminal justice course offered.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

* General program management
* Managing student enrollment
* Developing program curriculum
* Faculty development
* Managing fiscal and physical resources
* Development of external relationships

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a wildlife-related or other natural resources-related field (Fisheries Management, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Conservation, Natural Resources Conservation Law Enforcement)
* Extensive experience (10+ years) as a Wildlife Conservation Officer
* Two (2) years prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level and experience in the field
* Demonstrated ability to articulate natural resource science within and outside the classroom to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a TCSG institution
* POST certification
* Experience developing and teaching classes using the Blackboard platform
* Experience in managing and motivating professionals
* Strong presentation and organizational skills
* Ability to make presentations using advanced media technology, such as distance learning and online learning applications
