If you are an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Twin Cities campus you will lead the site's environment, safety and health efforts to drive best-in-class strategies related to compliance, prevention and culture. You will have the opportunity to lead a team in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the site's EHS programs to mitigate risk, prevent injuries, meet regulatory requirements and protect people, property and the environment.

AS THE EHS MANAGER YOU WILL:
  • Oversee the management, development, and continuous improvement of safety and health programs
    • Provide safety and health expertise and leadership in the development and deployment of EHS practices including safety & health policies, tools, standards and best practices
    • Develop and execute site safety & health programs to ensure compliance with state, federal and corporate requirements
    • Develop and implement initiatives to improve safety culture and operational integration of safety & health best practices
    • Drive a risk-based approach, to identify and mitigate risk across the site in partnership with cross-functional teams
    • Direct the development and execution of training programs
    • Provide guidance on proactive risk identification & mitigation approaches during process and workstation design
    • Evaluate and respond to industrial hygiene concerns/requests in a timely fashion including occupational exposures to noise, chemical, etc.
    • Serve as a partner to support HR in work-related injury/illness response & management
    • Serve as the company safety & health liaison with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies
    • Assist with selection of PPE
    • Participate in the Emerson Measurement Solutions Global Safety and Health Leadership Team
  • Oversee the management, development, and continuous improvement of environmental programs
    • Provide the business with expert knowledge and guidance related to compliance with air, water, waste, and other environmental regulations
    • Develop and execute site environmental programs to ensure compliance with state, federal and corporate requirements
    • Oversee environmental permitting, filing and reporting activities
    • Support sustainability efforts for the site, including energy reduction, waste diversion, etc.
    • Direct the development and execution of related training programs
    • Serve as the company environmental liaison with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Serve as a Critical Business Partner
    • Establish and maintain relationships with business leadership to integrate EHS objectives into operational focuses, set strategies for EHS improvement, and gain support for needed deployment resources
    • Lead various teams supporting EHS activities across the site & continuous improvement projects
    • Develop and communicate meaningful reporting to drive awareness to trends and generate urgency relating to EHS performance and execution
    • Interact with regulators on behalf of the business and communicate the results to ensure visibility and ownership across the organization
    • Generate applicable policies/procedures to ensure a consistent and cost effective approach
    • Provide incident investigation and corrective action guidance
    • Provide guidance for risk assessments for equipment, processes & chemicals through processes such as Equipment Safety Reviews, Job Hazard Analysis and ergonomic assessments
    • Direct and support EHS audits
    • Support facility Emergency Planning/Response
  • Lead the site EHS Team
    • ​​​​​​​Provide leadership, supervision and direction to team members
    • Foster professional growth for team members, including identifying and supporting development opportunities
    • Establish accountability for performance and core role execution
    • Develop and implement effective feedback routines to recognize and coach performance, as appropriate
  • Serve as EHS System Administrator
    • Leverage available systems to maximize the impact of EHS activities, to measure performance, and to drive accountability (EHS Data Management Software, Online SDS System, Ergonomic Analysis Tools, etc.)
    • Oversee or delegate oversight of various EHS-related vendors
